Pelo décimo sétimo ano consecutivo, o Departamento de Cinema e Artes dos Media da Universidade Lusófona com o apoio da Fundação Luso-Americana e do Instituto do Cinema e Audiovisual, organiza mais uma semana internacional Audiovisual e Multimedia.

Uma semana repleta de workshops, palestras e demonstrações, visando a formação de formadores e alunos nas mais recentes tecnologias relacionadas com Cinema e Multimédia, assim como a divulgação de trabalhos produzidos pelos nossos alunos. O tema principal deste ano é "Contar Histórias", e o foco será no desenvolvimento de habilidades de colaboração entre os alunos que trabalham em diferentes áreas da produção cinematográfica e a compreensão do papel que cada profissão tem no desenvolvimento de um filme.

For the seventeenth year the Film & Media Arts Department at Lusófona University organizes an International Audiovisual and Multimedia Week of workshops, lectures and demonstration, targeting the training of trainers and students in the latest film related technologies and the dissemination of students produced work. The main theme for this year is “Story Telling”, focusing on the development of collaboration skills between students working in different areas of film production and the understanding of the role different professions have in developing a film.

Programa Program

This Session will cover David Finchers Gone Girl Workflow as well as Open workflows with ProRes, DNXHD, Avid, VFX Stabilisation, Motion Tracking, Green Screen, Tapeless workflows from , Alexa, Sony, Red 4K, AVCHD & Canon 5d & 7D within a 4:4:4 colour space. This session will also cover workflow for  Sarah & Duck Cbeebies – an animated series from concept through funding through storyboard, audio mastering, animatic to composite to final edit. This session will suit Producers, Animators, Editorial, DPP, VFX, Colourists, Cinematography Directing and Editing Students.

Michael O’Neill Bio

Michael O’Neill’s currently shares tips and tricks on making film, television & animation based on workflows from industry with students and lecturers from film and television schools across Europe. Michael began by directing vfx  on projects for U2, Depeche Mode and Radiohead that led to being a producer at MTV’s in-house production department responsible for producing over 600 hours of MTV content per year.

With the advent of the internet Michael moved to Macromedia product management  as the Technology Expert  developing the Futuresplash cell based animation tool into the first version of Flash with customers including Disney and Viacom.

In 2001 Michael took up a UK post with Adobe as the Premiere Pro, Photoshop and After Effects guru working with agency, broadcast, animation and film accounts like Ridley Scott Films, Warner Brothers, Sony, WPP, Rovio, Moving Picture Company, Cartoon Network, BBC, SKY and Aardman. Working to create end to end workflows for multi-platform commissioning, production and delivery to traditional TV, Broadband, Mobile Phone, Film, Print, Interactive, Social Networking, Advertisement and Integrated Marketing on a strategic, consultative and tactical level.

Michael was Adobe’s member of the first video on demand system “BBC iPlayer” development team with Anthony Rose and the BBC department heads from production & the genres of Comedy, Drama, News, Factual & Learning, Children’s and Sports for the initial prototyping, beta testing through to its initial launch in 2007 with Doctor Who & Kyle Minogue.

Michael is the EMEA education point of contact for development of Adobe’s toolsets and is currently focused on supporting the Cilect member schools with Masterclass film, animation and TV Open Workflows with Avid Media Composer, Apple FCP, Davinci, Nuke, Autodesk & Pro Tools workflow seminars and lecturer training for schools adopting After Effects, Premiere Pro, Story Plus and Speedgrade into their curriculums.
